Rectangle JKLM is similar to rectangle WXYZ . What is the scale factor of a dilation from JKLM to WXYZ ? Enter your answer in the box. Two rectangles with vertices labeled J K L M and W X Y Z. In rectangle J K L M, side L M is the base. Side J M is labeled 9 centimeters, and side J K is labeled 12 centimeters. In rectangle W X Y Z, side Y X is the base. Side Z W is labeled 13.5 centimeters, and side W X is labeled 18 centimeters.

Final answer:

The scale factor from rectangle JKLM to rectangle WXYZ is 3/4.

Step-by-step explanation:

The scale factor is determined by comparing the corresponding sides of the two rectangles. In rectangle JKLM, JM is 9 centimeters and JK is 12 centimeters. In rectangle WXYZ, WX is 18 centimeters and WZ is 13.5 centimeters. By dividing the corresponding side lengths, we find that: JM/JK = WX/WZ.

Substituting the values, we have 9/12 = 18/13.5.

Reducing the fractions, the scale factor is 3/4.

JKLM to WXYZ

JM = 9 ZW = 13.5
JK = 12 WX = 18

the scale factor is what u multiply the original shape to get the coordinates of the other shape.
13.5 / 9 = 1.5

9 * 1.5 = 13.5
12 * 1.5 = 18

so ur scale factor is 1.5 (because if u multiply 1.5 by the original shape, u get the new shape)
