The Haymarket Riot took place in Chicago in 1886 and started due to a bombing during a demonstration of strikers who protested for an eight hour working day. A bomb was threw to the police when the attempted to disperse the protest and, together with the subsequent gunfire, it led to the death of seven policemen and four civilians.
