ok this is very easy first you write down the problem
10/12-8/12
second the have the same denomanator so
10/12-8/12
now do 10-8
10-8=2
you dont have to do it with denomantator
so we have 2/12
but we have to simplify it
2/12=1/6
1/6 is your answer

Subtract the numerator from the other numerator. Keep the same denominator.
10/12- 8/12= 2/12
