As a healthcare professional it is best to provide it so that a patient knows you are a reliable source of information that should be acquainted by you on this level.

I think you mean medication, but if the client requests about their medication, they have the right to ask and know. Bottom line the nurse should give the patient the information. (It states this in the Patient's Bill of Rights) ☺
