(( I will give 25 points and brainy for right answers (Please answer all!!) CORRECTLY!!))
(Use first image) 1. For the figures shown, FHJL ~ NPRS. The scale factor applied to FHJL create NPRS is 5 to 3.
What is NP?
A. 27
B. 50
C. 60
D. 75
(Use image two) 2. For the figures shown, BDFH ~ MOQS. The scale factor applied to BDFH create MOQS is 3 to 4.
What is MO?
A. 32
B. 36
C. 44
D. 64
(Use third image) 3. The triangles are similar. The area of the larger triangle is 567 cm^2.
What's the area of the smaller triangle?
A. 10.5 cm ^2
B. 31.5 cm ^2
C. 63 cm ^2
D. 189 cm ^2
(Use fourth image) 4. The triangles are similar. The area of the larger triangle is 270 square centimeter.
What is the area of the smaller triangle?
A. 7.5 cm ^2
B. 9 cm ^2
C. 12.5 cm ^2
D. 45 cm ^2

1. so the scale factor is 5 to 3 or 5/3.....a scale factor is what u multiply the first shape by to get the second shape
so if FH = 45....and a scale factor of 5/3 is applied, then NP = (45 * 5/3) = 75
=================
so BDFH has a scale factor of 3/4 applied to get MOQS
so MO = BD * 3/4.......MO = 48 * 3/4 = 36
=================
notice that the small triangle is 1/3 of the larger triangle....so the area would be 1/3 of the larger triangle
So if larger triangle has an area of 567, then the smaller triangle would have an area of (567/3) = 189 cm^2 <==
=================
the smaller triangle is 1/6 the size of the larger triangle...so if the larger triangle has an area of 270, then the smaller triangle has an area of
(270/6) = 45 cm^2 <==

1) D. 75
2) B. 36
3) D. 189 cm ^ 2
K= copy over the original (K= scale factor)
The scale factor is 1 to 3.
4) D. 45 cm ^ 2
K= copy over the original (K= scale factor)
The scale factor is 1 to 6.
