Intervention of Nurse Anticipate being Implemented to client safety

A client prescribed rifaximin for diarrhea has developed frank bleeding in the stool. Changing to a different antibiotic the nurse should anticipate being implemented to best ensure client safety. If rifaximin is continuously intaking then there will be more blood in the stool so to prevent such a situation then antibiotic should be changed. It will prove beneficial for patient and healthcare team.

To ensure patient's safety, the nurse should make sure aside from informing the patient and significant others to finish the treatment prescribed he or she should also make sure the patient is well hydrated like providing fluid replacement such as Oresol or drinks with electrolytes such as Gatorade to avoid dehydration.
