When naming an ionic compound, the name of the cation is followed by the name of the anion. Mon-atomic anions are named with the ending -ide.

Example : Fluoride

The compound FeSO₄

Fe (Iron) is a transition metal that can form more than one type of cation.

SO
₄ is known as Sulfate = {One Sulfer and four Oxygen atoms}

Therefore, the name of the compound is Iron (II) Sulfate.
