EASY MATH HELP!?!?!?!

Michael is painting a cylindrical tank with a radius of 15 feet and a height of 60 feet. He must determine the surface area of the tank so that he knows how much paint to purchase. What is the surface area of the tank? Use π = 3.14. A) 84,823 ft2 B) 1413 ft2 C) 5655 ft2 D) 7065 ft2

The radius of the cylindrical tank = 15ft.

Height of the cylindrical tank = 60ft.

We know that the surface area of cylinder =
2\pi r^2+2\pi rh

Here, r = 15ft and h = 60ft.

By placing the values in the formula we will get,

Surface area =
2\pi (15)^2+2\pi (15)(60)

=
2\pi (225)+2\pi (15)(60)

=
450\pi +2\pi (15)(60)

=
450\pi +2\pi (900)

=
450\pi +1800\pi

=
2250\pi

=
2250(3.14), as given
\pi = 3.14

=
7065

We have got the required answer.

Surface area of the tank =
7065 ft^2

The correct opttion is D.
