Gavin measured a round jar lid. Then he calculated that the area of the lid is 50.24 square centimeters. What is the lid's diameter?

Use 3.14 for ​pi.

First divide the area by pi
50.24/3.14 = 16
Then take the square root of the result

√(16) = 4 <-- This is the radius
Finally double the radius to get the diameter.
4 x 2 = 8
The diameter of the circle is 8 sq cm
