I would need the see the scale drawing of the original soccer field to answer this question. but you should just divide the original dimensions by 3.

Originally the scale is 1 inch: 12 yards, the width is 6 inches, that is, 6*12 = 72 yards, and the length is 9 yards, that is, 9*12 = 108 yards

If the scale is 1 inch: 36 yards, then 72 yards are:

1 inch / x inches = 36 yards / 72 yards

x = 72/36 = 2 inches

which represents the new width.

And 108 yards are:

1 inch / x inches = 36 yards / 108 yards

x = 108/36 = 3 inches

which represents the new length.
