Answer:

Amaro has the most number of cards with him.

Explanation:

Let Amaro has x cards

\text{Now, Mateo has }(1)/(2)\text{ as many cards as Amaro}\\\\\implies \text{Mateo has }(1)/(2)* x = (x)/(2) \text{ cards}\\\\\text{Also, Augustin has }(1)/(4)\text{ as many cards as Mateo}\\\\\implies \text{Augustin has }(1)/(4)* (x)/(2)=(x)/(8)\text{ cards}\\\\\text{Therefore, Amaro has x cards, Mateo has }(x)/(2)\text{ cards and Augustin has }(x)/(8)\text{ cards}

Since, x is the number of cards so cannot be negative quantity.

\implies x >(x)/(2)>(x)/(8)

Hence, Amaro has the most number of cards with him.
