I NEED THIS NOWW!!!!!!

The coordinate grid below shows the locations of Dave's house(-16,-12), John's house(-16,8), and the community swimming pool(-4,8). Dave cycled in a straight line from his house to John's house, and then together they cycled to the community swimming pool. What is the total distance (in units) that Dave cycled?

(-16,-12) to (-16,8) is 20 units then from (-16,8) to (-4,8) is 12 units so 20+12= 32units

check the picture below.

coming straight up from Dave's house at y=-12, up to y = 0 is 12 units, then we keep on going up up to y = 8, 12 + 8, so to get to John's house, is 20 units off the grid.

then they take off to the swimming pool, from x = -16, up to x = -4, what's that difference? is 12 units, | 16 - 4| = 12.

so, Dave went 20 units to John's house, and then 12 units to the swimming pool.

20 + 12, or 32 units.
