How do you write a fraction as a whole number and a fraction (if you can do it) Im getting confused and my math test is tmr

if you have a fraction that is 5/4, you would write it as 1 1/4 because 4/4 is 1 and then you have 1/4 left. if you had 16/7, you would get 2 2/7. there are 2 7/7 and then 2/7 left over.... im bad at explaining so if you're still confused comment on this and ill try to explain better.

Add the answer from Step 1 to the numerator.

Write answer from Step 2 over the denominator.
