I need help with 3x-y=4   y=6-2x

Since you have a "y=" equation, this is solved nicely by substitution.
.. 3x -(6 -2x) = 4
.. 5x -6 = 4
.. 5x = 10
.. x = 2
Then
.. y = 6 -2x
.. y = 6 -2*2 = 2

The solution is (x, y) = (2, 2).
