Quantity of butter = 2/7 pounds

Quantity of sugar= 2/9 pounds

Now we have to find the difference here.

First finding lcd of 7 and 9 , we have 9*7 =63

lcd is 63

Now converting each fraction into lcd form,

Quantity of butter = 2/7 pounds

(2)/(7) = (2*9)/(7*9)

Quantity of butter = 18/63

Quantity of sugar= 2/9 pounds

(2)/(9) = (2*7)/(9*7)

Quantity of sugar = 14/63

difference = (18)/(63) - (14)/(63)

Difference = 4/63

Answer : 4/63 pounds of more butter was used.
