Alejandra heard that as a general rule, she should spend no more than one week's pay on rent. If Alejandra's pay is $34,000 per year, what is the maximum amount per month that she should spend on rent?

One year = 12 months / 52 weeks / 365 days

So, knowing that there’s 52 weeks in a year, the only thing you have to do to find out how much her rent costs per week is divide her annual pay by 52 :

34 000 ÷ 52 ⋍ 653,85$

So Alejandra shouldn’t pay more than 653,85$ a month for rent!

Hope this helped! ☻

$653.84 would be a week's salary if no taxes are figured into the equation
