-5x-(-7-4x)=-2(3x-4) First simplify the equation
-5x+7+4x=-6x+8
-x+7=-6x+8 : Subtract seven from both sides, add -6x from both sides.
-x+7-7+6x=-6x+6x+8-7
-x+6x=1
5x=1 divide by five to obtain the value of x
x=1/5
