A kite has side lengths of 2 feet and 4 feet. Each side length is increased by the same number of feet. The expression represents the perimeter of the larger kite: (x + 2) + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + (x + 4) Which expression is equivalent to the expression for the perimeter of the larger kite? A) x + 12 B) 4x + 3 C) 4(x + 3) D) 4(x + 12)

(x+2)+(x+2)+(x+4)+(x+4)

Something to keep in mind, these are all being added together. N0 multiplication is needed.

x+x+x+x= 4x

2+2+4+4=12

But, there is nothing equal to 4x+12, so we can use the distributive property to find something equivalent.

4*x=4x 4*3=12

So, 4(x+3) "C" <---- the answer

I hope this helps!

the x terms add up to 4x and the numbers add up to 12
4x + 12 = 4(x + 3)

Its C
