A cell reproduces by doubling every hour. If you start with a single cell, how many will you have in 24 hours?

In 24 hours you will have 16777216 cells

Explanation:

So if we know that we start of with one cell and each hour each cell keeps on doubling then we can find out how much cell there will be in 24 by doing th following.

1 x 2 = 2 (the number of cells after 1 hour)

2 x 2 = 4 (the number of cells after 2 hours)(in order to obtain this we need to multiply the number of cells from the previous hour by 2, and we do this process repeatedly till we get the number of cell after 24 hours). So techencly the number of cells after 24 hours will be equal to

1 x
2^(24)

And so the number of cells after 24 hours will be....

1 x
2^(24) = 1 x 16777216 = 16777216
