Humulin™ is actually human insulin produced by

e. coli bacteria. the human gene for insulin is inserted into the bacteria, and the bacteria are able to make our insulin, which diabetics use to control their diabetes. what property about hereditary information makes this possible?

Answer:

Human genes can be inserted into the genetic material of E.Coli

Step-by-step explanation:

Genes are basic units of inheritance. They contain codes for the proper functioning of the body including codes for the synthesis of certain proteins such as insulin.

However the human gene can combine with that of E.Coli, a bacterium to produce a recombinant organism which can now produce insulin from human genes. This is only possible because human gene can be inserted into the genetic material of E Coli

All of the hereditary information in living organisms on Earth is stored in DNA molecules. All of the organisms have the same four nucleotides that combine into DNA sequences. Because of this universality, the bacterial cell machinery can read the inserted human DNA sequence and translate the information into a functioning insulin protein.
