After the sinking of the Lusitania, President Woodrow Wilson said, "There is such a thing as a man being too proud to fight."
On the afternoon of May 7, 1915, the Lusitania sank after being torpedoed by the German submarine off the south coast of Ireland. It sank on the Celtic sea twenty minutes after being torpedoed.
