You need to covert 1/6 into the same denominator as 1/12
That means 2/12 is equal to 1/6 and can combine with 1/12
2/12 + 1/12 makes 3/12
You simplify to make it 1/4 because it can divide by 3
~Thanks!
Hope this helps!

3/12 inches of rain fell on monday, because 1/6 is the same as 2/12.
2/12+1/12=3/12
Hope this helps!
