An atom has a couple basic parts:
Electrons: Negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus
Protons: Positively charged particles that lay in the nucleus
Neutrons: Particles with no charge and are found in the nucleus
The Nucleus: A mass of protons and neutrons that is at the center of each atom and which electrons orbit around.
Hope this helps!
