Because the lines are parallel the sides formed by the intersection of the smaller parallel line are in same ratios, so
8/14 = 10 / x
8x = 140
x = 17.5 Answer

x/10 = 14/8
x = 10*14/8
x = 17.5

answer
C. x =17.5
