I believe the answer is sleep thinking
sleep thinking refers to a type of brain activity that occurred when you're deep in your sleep.
Studies showed that when we're in oru sleep, our brain will start to form various type of relational memories that might not come to our direct attention when we're conscious.

Sleep mentation otherwise called sleep thinking is a process of revising thoughts and fantasizing about things in the NREM phase of sleep. These processes precede dreaming which happens in the next, REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep.
