Cyanobacteria are prokaryotic organisms that are capable of conducting the process of photosynthesis. They can transform the energy that comes from the Sun ( Sun's radiation) into simple sugars. Therefore, they are able to produce food for themselves, without any external output (in simple terms, without eating other organisms) which makes them autotrophic.
