Hydrogen bond is an electrostatic interaction involving hydrogen atom located between a pair of other atoms with high affinity for electrons. The bonds are weaker than the ionic and covalent bonds but stronger than van der waals forces. The bonds are formed between molecules when hydrogen is covalently bonded to an element that has a small atomic radius and high electronegativity. These atoms include; oxygen, fluorine and nitrogen.
