Example 1: The angle is 42 deg and the length of the hypotenuse is 25. The side of length x is opposite the 42 deg angle.
opposite side
Thus, sin 42 deg = -------------------- => 25 sin 42 deg = x = opp side

25(0.669) = 16.7 units (answer)

How to find the missing sides

The missing sides are solved using trigonometry. Where:

Sin = opposite / hypotenuse - SOH

Cos = adjacent / hypotenuse - CAH

Tan = opposite / adjacent - TOA

1. sin 42 = x / 25

x = sine 42 * 25 = 16.73

2. cos 75 = x / 12

x = cos 75 * 12 = 3.11

x = 3.11

3. cos 36 = 19 / x

x = 19 / cos 75 = 73.41

x = 73.41

4. tan 53 = x / 7

x = 7 * tan 53 = 9.29

x = 9.29
