Solve: y + (–16) = –12

First take parenthesis out

y-16=-12

y=-12+16

y=4

So the goal here is to find out what Y equals.
To do that we must get Y by itself.
to get Y by itself we must add 16 to both sides
-12+16=4

y = 4
