President Ford’s method of moving beyond the Watergate scandal D)angered many American voters.
Following the resignation of President Richard Nixon, Ford became the new President in 1974, and soon he used his newly acquired power to pardon Nixon for any crimes he may have committed while being a President. Nixon had been accused of being involved in the Water Scandal in 1972 before and was in trouble with American justice.
His decision was harshly criticized and angered many Americans that wanted to see Nixon brought to justice.
