The findings of Henri Becquerel and the Curies helped to discredit what notion held for a very long time? That matter can never be created or destroyed. Matter is made up of any smaller parts. Matter is radioactive and decays over time. That matter is indivisible and indestructible.

That matter s indivisible and indestructible.  This is because they discovered that certain elements, thought to be indivisible, can breakdown by radioactive decay and emit smaller, high energy particles and/or photons.

Answer:

That matter is indivisible and indestructible.

Step-by-step explanation:

Matter is composed of many smaller parts known as atoms. It was earlier thought that atom is the smallest indivisible particle. Henri Becquerel and Curies discovered radioactivity. Radioactivity is the phenomenon where an unstable atom disintegrates into a stable nuclei and releases energy along with, gamma, beta or alpha particle. With discovery of radioactivity, the notion that matter is indivisible and indestructible, was destroyed.
