The correct answer is A. Elias Howe.

There were many manufacturers before them however only he managed to get all the things that they invented into a single machine that worked and which was amazing for the time. He did this in 1845. Singer made his version in 1851. There was another person who made such a machine in 1844, even earlier, but the patents were not fully recognized and attributed to him so he never got the acclaim properly.
