Joseph spent $76.82 at the pet food store. He paid $47.54 for a bag of dog food and $2.44 each for some treats.

How many treats did he purchase? (just wanna know)

To find the answer first subtract $47.54 from the total (76.82-47.54 = 29.28) Then divide the remaining money, 29.28 by the cost of one dog treat, $2.44. 29.28/2.44 = 12. Joseph purchased 12 dog treats. 12 times 2.44 is 29.28, plus the bag of dog food is 47.54, which totals 76.82.

This is the concept of algebra;
let the number of treats be x;
Total amount spent=(cost of dog food)+(cost of treaties)
Total cost=$76.82
Cost of dog food=$47.54
Total cost of treaties given that each cost $ 2.44 will be:
2.44×x=2.44x
therefore:
76.82=47.54+2.44x
2.44x=76.82-47.54
2.44x=29.28
x=29.28/2.44
x=12
therefore there were 12 treats
