A candy bar costs 5 dollars. you want 2 of them so you multiply using the expression: 2(5)=10. You have 4 friends so you decided to divide the candy bar in 5ths so that you and the 4 friends can have the same amount: 2(5)divided by 5=5.

2(5)=10
10÷5=5
