Find the resultant of two forces, one of 72 pounds and the other of 56 pounds, if they act at a point at an angle of 37

Figures are attached below

To find resultant force we use consine formula ( given two sides and one angle)

a^2 = b^2 + c^2 -2*b*c* cos(a)

b = 72, c= 56 , angle is 37 . angle a= 180 - 37 = 143

a^2 = 72^2 + 56^2 -2*72*56* cos(143)

a^2 = 5184 + 3136 -2*4032 cos(143)

a^2 = 14,760.196

a = 121.49

Resultanat force = 121 pounds

Find the resultant of two forces, one of 72 pounds and the other of 56 pounds, if-example-1
