We know that x= y+3

We can substitute x for y+3

6(y+3)-5y=15 Solve.

Distribute.

6y+18-5y= 15

y+18=15

Subtract -18 on both sides.

y=-3

Now, plug that in.

x= y+3

x= -3+3, x= 0

We can check to see if this works.

0= -3+3

0=0

6(0)-5(-3)= 15

0+15= 15

15=15

So,

y=-3 and x= 0

I hope this helps!
