it is seen in alcoholic cirrhosis.
this type of cirrhosis is a complex process that starts with a process referred to as fatty infiltration also called hepatic steatosis. in this condition tryglycerides are deposited in liver cells (hepatocytes) as a result of decreased fatty acid oxidation and increased lipogenesis by hepatocytes.
