Some slaves would kill the merchants, destroy the ship, or jump of the boat intentionally killing their self in an attempt to resist. they preserved their languages as well as created new ones in an attempt to communicate

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Africans resisted the dehumanizing forces of the middle passage and seasoning and used their African cultures to build black cultures in the new world by the willpower they had and the strong character of these people that wanted to fight and survive.

When black people from Africa survived the horrendous and unhuman trip from Africa to the Americas, their physical skills and adaptation not only helped them to survive but to develop their own culture in a foreign land through chants, dances, and their own form of music that still exist today.
