The transportation improvements allowed industrialist to "cheaply and easily move" raw material to rural workers to be turned into finished cloth, which contributed to the increased industrial production of textiles.

Before the improvement in transportation, it took months to transport cloth from one place to another. Now they can move the cloth without wasting much time and take advantage of cheap labor in the rural areas. This all helps to increase production.

Before the transportation improvement, we need months to transfer resources from one state to another.
Due to the development of the railroad, this process becomes much more faster, which allows companies to adopt new form of labor management. (such us utilizing rural workers which tend to be cheaper_
