The Japanese government's takeover of Manchuria and the relationship of the US with Colombia as concerns the Isthmus of Panama; both show a stronger military power seizing land from a weaker power. In both cases the stronger power felt that they had a right to take control of the land because they had plans that would be beneficially to all involved.
