Vtopic one: write down the first three steps of the scientific method. think of a broad topic that you are interested in and which would make a good sociological study—for example, ethnic diversity in a college, homecoming rituals, athletic scholarships, or teen driving. now, take that topic through the first steps of the process. for each step, write a few sentences or a paragraph: 1) ask a question about the topic. 2) do some research and write down the titles of some articles or books you'd want to read about the topic. 3) formulate a hypothesis.

You first need to figure out your topic. Find one which interests you. Then you need to ask a question related to it. Research to find information you could use to learn more. Then come up with a hypothesis or guess about your question.

This is a question that only you can answer, as the answer depends on your particular interests. However, I can give you an example of how you can go about it.

First, you have to think about a topic you are interested in that can be used in a sociological study. Therefore, it has to be related to the topic of society. An example of this could be marriage within a certain social group, such as teenagers.

1. The question about this could be, "are marriages among teenagers more or less common than in the past?"

2. Some books that you could read would be:

Teenage Marriage: Coping With Reality by Jeanne Warren Lindsay

Teens Look at Marriage: Rainbows, Roles and Reality by Jeanne Warren Lindsay

3. Formulate a hypothesis, such as "Teenage marriages are less common nowadays than in the past."
