The probability that a restuarant patron is wearing blue shoes is 0.36. the probabilty that a restaurant patron is 27 years old is 0.017. what is the probability that a patron has blue shoes and is 27?

the events are independent, therefore one doesn't affect the outcome of the other, thus recall that AND means "times" namely multiplication.

P(A and B) => P(A) * P(B), in this case 0.36 * 0.017.
