a farmer has 3/4 of an acre to plant beans and squash. if 4/9 of an acre is planted with beans how much is left for the squash

It is given in the question , that

A farmer has 3/4 of an acre to plant beans and squash.

And out of 3/4 of an acre, the farmer used 4/9 of an acre in planted with beans .

Therefore, for the squash, left acre is


(3)/(4) - (4)/(9) = (3*9 - 4*4)/(36)


= (11)/(36) acres

Hence , 11/36 of an acre is left for the squash .
