Example: 5x - 2y = 14 yields 2y = 5x - 14, or y = 5x/2 - 7 (positive slope 5/2).

Eliminate (b) and (d) immediately, since doing the same thing to these equations results in negative slopes.

Look at (c): 2y - 5x = 14 has a positive slope and a positive y-intercept, so is the correct choice. Check out (a) and explain why it's not correct.
