2/9 x 3= 2/3. Divide 3 by 9 to get 1/3. 1 times 2=2, so 2 is your numerator. Oce you have that, simply divide 9 by three to get 3, and that is your denominator.

2/9 × 3 =
= 2×3 / 9 =
= 6/9 =
= 2/3
