Explain how waves and a longshore current cause coastal erosion.

Coastal Erosion is caused by water, and once the water picks up the sediments that were deposited on the coast, they are then traveled along the ocean to different parts of the world.

If waves continuously crash down on the land over time, the shore begins to erode because of the amount of pressure constantly pushes down on it, which can cause the shore to eventually wear down.
