Although there are many different ways in which a producer can attempt to create demand for a product, one of the most important and successful ones is by heavily advertising the product. Examples of this practice are brands such as Coca-Cola or McDonald's. These brands have specific icons that are easily recognized by consumers, such as the image of Santa Claus, the "golden arches" or Ronald McDonald. These are heavily advertised to consumers with the purpose of creating a need, and therefore, increasing demand for these products.
