it would have to be -5a+3b

Answer:

-5a + 3b

3a+2b−8a+b

=3a + 2b + (−8a) + b

Combine Like Terms:

=3a + 2b + (−8a) +b

=(3a+−8a)+(2b+b)

=−5a+3b
