cross-country runner does not need weight training. this is because weight training usually leads to building of the enormous muscle and strength. since a cross country runner is running for longer distance he/she does not need to build muscle because he/she will gain a lot of weight which will make him/her heavy and will not be able to run for prolonged distances. in fact he/she should train in cardiovascular activities because this category will enable him run longer distances.
