Hector plans to randomly draw a card from a standard deck of cards, record the result, return the card to the deck, shuffle the deck, and randomly draw another card. So, he will draw a total of 2 cards.

What is the probability that he draws a 2, and then a 4?

Answer:

P=0.59%

Explanation:

Hello

we need to know that A "standard" deck of playing cards consists of 52 Cards in each of the 4 suits of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs. Each suit contains 13 cards: Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, so we have 4 cards with the number 2 , and 4 cards with the number 4

the probability that hector draws a 2 is

p=100%*(4)/(52)

p=100%*0.0769

p=7.69%

the probability that on the second attempt to draw a 4 is the same

the total probability is the product of the 2 events

P=100%(4)/(52) *(4)/(52)

P=100%*0.0059

P=0.59%

have a great day.
